Have you ever wondered how someone decides to make contracting a career? For many it isn't a conscious decision--they do it to make money, and then they keep doing it to keep making money.

That isn't how Folan Contracting began.

In 1988 our company's founder came to the United States with his new college diploma, his incorruptible integrity, and his unsurpassed Irish work ethic (and a LOT of modesty--we have to sneak this information onto the website!) He was just visiting, but quickly received offers to put his work ethic to use. One year turned into two as he engaged in local sports and developed friendships...and discovered he enjoyed carpentry.

He recognized an opportunity to apprentice with some of the best contractors in Boston, and set himself up as a subcontractor. By 1994, Folan Contracting had become one of the most reliable and referred contractors in eastern Massachusetts.

He is determined to bring a more attentive and enjoyable experience to homeowners whose houses are undergoing major maintenance or renovations. Staying true to this mission, the Folan Project Managers are trained to listen for your vision, hopes, expectations—and then make them come alive through the on-site crew's experience and knowledge.
